About Lisa

Lisa Curtis is a Democrat seeking her party's nomination for New Mexico House District 31, where she hopes to challenge Republican Nicole Chavez in the November 2026 general election. An Albuquerque attorney, business owner, and community leader, Lisa has spent more than 30 years representing New Mexico families. A graduate of Sandia High School and the UNM School of Law, Lisa grew up in Albuquerque's Northeast Heights, raised her family here, and today her parents also still live in House District 31.

Lisa has long been active in her community and her party. She served as Chair of the New Mexico Commission on the Status of Women from 2020 to 2025, where she helped advance policies that strengthened economic security and protections for women and families across the state. She was an early and dedicated contributor to Emerge New Mexico, which supports women running for office.

Lisa is a mother of four, grandmother, entrepreneur, and lifelong advocate for justice and public service.
